Enjoy your stay in one of the most significant 17th century villas immersed in the hills surrounding Florence. A truly memorable experience in this countryside, rich in history and marked by the signs of time and characterized by aristocratic families who created this villa leaving a patrimony of art, culture and traditions of invaluable wealth.

We like our guests to feel at home in this family run atmosphere and pride ourselves on the quality of services we offer and we are keen to share our knowledge of the historical, cultural, agricultural and gastronomic aspects of this place.

Originally built as a guard’s tower in the early Medieval period by the powerful landowners, the Conti Guidi family from Romagna, who at the time owned most of the territory east of Florence leading across the Casentino Valley as far as Arezzo. The tower was overseen by a local family, Da Quona and later in 1229 it transpired to become part of the estate of the nearby Abbey of Vallombrosa.

Our Villa respects all the traditions of a farm holiday. Get to know the beauty of Tuscany, our culture, the art cities and culinary delights that this region offers. We are immersed in nature where it is easy to forget the stress of everyday life. Facilities include a large swimming pool, a tennis court, table tennis and for the younger members there is a children’s play area, guaranteeing enjoyment for all the family.

For nature lovers, there are many marked routes through the olive groves, age old chestnut woods and pine forests, either on foot, mountain bike or horse-back. Every week we organize a guided visit of the villa, learn about the area, history and you have the opportunity to taste our products together with wine tasting of local Chianti wine. Our restaurant is open at the weekends and serves traditional Florentine and local dishes. For our guests there is also a welcoming reception selling our products, a small bar, lounge with satellite television, meeting room with internet point and washing machine.

Comfortable apartments of various sizes have been carefully renovated and furnished in a typical Tuscan style and are situated either in the main villa or adjacent farmhouses. Each are equipped with telephone, satellite television, outside garden or terrace with tables and chairs. Linen is provided for the bedroom, bathroom and kitchen and changed on a weekly basis.

The calm atmosphere, setting and nature that surround our Villa are perfect ingredients for organizing a special event be it of cultural, musical, religious, recreational or sporting nature. You can customize  your holiday by joining a cookery or art course, an excursion or guided visit to enrich your knowledge of the region and local Tuscan traditions. Our meeting room can accommodate up to 35 persons.

A holiday that regenerates the mind and body. At our Villa you will have plenty of time to relax and indulge in your passions, doing healthy exercise and making the most of your holiday in Tuscany.

We offer many opportunities for enjoyment and outdoor sports, immersed in the beautiful nature that surround us. We provide sport facilities and relaxing areas for that well-deserved rest and there are many hiking trails to explore and discover the wonders of our region.

Genuine products such as wine, olive oil, cheese, bread and other typical products, each one with their own characteristics typical of the Tuscan country kitchen. We invite our guests to join us on our weekly guided tour where you have the possibility to try these delicacies as well as get to know the history, customs and agricultural production in this area. We visit the family chapel, our olive oil cellar and to finish, wine tasting of local Chianti wines accompanied with tasty appetisers from our estate and other local farms.

During the year demonstrations of agricultural activities on our farm.:

• February – preparation of trees for grafting.
• March – Pruning of fruit trees.
• April - Preparation of the bee hives for our honey production.
• May - Grafting of chestnut trees.
• June/July – Honey making.
• October - Grinding of cornmeal to make polenta.
• November – Olive harvest and new olive oil.
