Costiera Amalfitana

The Amalfi Coast extends for about 40 km from Vietri to Positano, overlooking the Gulf ofSalerno. Declared a Unesco World Heritage Site, it boasts a unique landscape: narrow and curved streets, villas and hotels overlooking the sea, dry stone walls, vineyards, orange groves, lemon groves and gardens that slope down to the sea, narrow beaches nestled between high rocks. Ideal for a romantic holiday in a farmhouse near the sea.

The villages of the Amalfi Coast

The Amalfi Coast is known for its heterogeneity: each country has its own characteristics and traditions, but all of them have taken on strange shapes to adapt to the coast. In addition to Vietri sul Mare, famous for the tradition of ceramic processing and Positano, a tourist village famous for fashion and nightlife, there are Cetara, the country of anchovy pouring, Ravello, with the prestigious villas and the cliffs dense of lemons, Conca dei Marini, with the Grotta dello Smeraldo, whose name derives from the color that the water assumes thanks to the light that penetrates from an underwater crack. But, above all, Amalfi, the heart of the Amalfi Coast, with its narrow streets and the beautiful Cathedral and the cloister of Paradise.

What to do on the Amalfi Coast

The Amalfi Coast is also known for some typical products, such as limoncello, obtained with the sfusato amalfitano, a typical lemon of the coast proposed here in all shades, from sweet to salty. Also try the famous cuoppo, the typical Neapolitan street food, a cone of cartapaglia in delicious fried foods and spaghetti with anchovy sauce, one of the symbolic foods of Cetara. You can taste these and other products by staying in a farmhouse with restaurant.

For lovers of nature and trekking, it is worth reaching the Valle delle Ferriere, a green lung made up of waterfalls and waterways at the center of which is the Riserva Naturale Orientata where vegetables from very distant times survive. To fully grasp the beauty of these places, we recommend the Sentiero degli Dei, from Bomerano to Agerola, from which you can admire the whole area, and where a unique panoramic point offers a breathtaking view of the Amalfi Coast Sorrento Coast.
